Lecture on Cancer Research at MIT

Weather was great this morning for my usual morning run. I went to a talk about Cancer Research at MIT today by Jacqueline A. Lees, Professor of Biology, Associate Director of the Center for Cancer Research. Professor Lees showed us very interesting new approaches to diagnose cancer more rapidly and accurately, and to treat it more effectively. Two of them really impressed me. One of them involving using nano technology to make a "chip" that can detect cancer and implant it in to people. The other one involving comuter system analysis and mathematics to to figure out the most efficient way to stop certain cancer process. It's great to see how different science sort of merge together. I will try to get notes from her and post it online.

Easy Morning Run

Just 3 miles this morning. Nothing really happend.

7 miles on Sunday

The weather was great this morning. I started my run 10:00am this morning. My plan was to run to the Science Museum, government center, Newbury st. and back to Central Square. I had to take a detour because a movie was been filmed on Mass Ave bridge. It is called “21” or something like that. Kevin Spacey is in it as a Professor. I could not cross the Mass Ave Bridge so I crossed the BU Bridge instead.

five miles - Harvard Square

I ran five miles to Mount Auburn Hospital via Harvard Square today. Feels pretty good, finally like summer again. It was 67 degrees and sunny. A lot of people were hanging out at the Charles River.

3 Miles via MIT

I did my first run after the Boston Marathon today with my new glasses. I stepped on my old glasses two weeks ago and broke them. :-( They looks pretty cool at first. The lenses also change color in the sun. However, they are horrible to run with and heavier than my last pairs. I guess things looks good are not always good for practical use. I think I will be running with my cotnact lenses more now.
